The Ecosystem Explorer is a data-driven map for philanthropists, designed to drive collective action. This innovative tool is built to inspire smarter giving and bolder solutions to address some of the greatest challenges facing people in the U.S. and around the world. By visualizing the full ecosystem of an issue, it reveals where people are most at risk and where nonprofits are driving impact—helping us shift from fragmented efforts to coordinated change.
Our first focus area is child sexual exploitation in the U.S.—a deeply rooted and devastating issue that demands urgent, coordinated action. It’s not a problem with a single cause or solution. It functions as a system with multiple points of vulnerability and harm—placing millions of children and families at risk and leaving lasting trauma in its wake. Ending it requires supporting the individuals and organizations working to disrupt exploitation at every stage.
We’ve designed the Ecosystem Explorer to reveal how all the pieces of the problem fit together. By understanding the system—and coordinating collective action across it—we can drive smarter, more effective solutions that break cycles of exploitation. Through this work, we help children—both at risk and already impacted—find a path to safety and hope.
